The Calgary Zoo in January

January 18, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

January in Canada.  One of the coldest months of the year...well, except maybe for this January.  Today warmed up to spring like weather, which was a pretty nice change from the typical January weather that we normally see.  It seemed like a great day to take the 70-200mm lens out and see what it could do.  These are from a walk around the Calgary Zoo.

Meerkats on the lookout.

This guy was having a blast unravelling the paper towels.

The elephants seemed to enjoy the sunshine.

Elephants in the snow.

Now this guy was awesome.

This is one cool cat. Totally awesome.

A face only a mother could love?

These guys remind me of the alien in the movie Predator.

"This is how humans do a sobriety walk...."

The primate philosopher....

Showing off the tortoise.
